Welcome to the Classy Kids Photography Blog!!

I am a Children's Photographer based out of San Diego California. Here, on my blog, you will find all of the things that you won't find on my website. Images of my children, friends, family, as well as multiple images from many of my sessions. I love my clients, and here you will see why! From pregnancy to newborn, from baby to child, to family portraits, you can watch as they grow, and see time pass in the images that I capture.

Currently booking January and February 2009 sessions!

San Diego Children’s Photographer

I told ya that I’d be posting again soon! Loads more coming!

This is one of my latest child model/actors. She had a great down-to-earth atitude and was so much fun to photograph!

We headed down to Belmont park where we ended the session with a churro, yummmm..(thanks to her mom!) and some cotton candy!

I’ve sooo neglected the blog…

Well, if you hadn’t noticed.. I had gone MIA. Let’s see.. I had an extremely busy holiday portrait season, then, We left to NJ to visit family for the holidays, when I came back, we moved to a new home. Then, the computer trouble started. I had some sessions and had to focus on getting them completed before my computer stopped working altogether on me.

Hence.. neglected blog.

Well.. I am now looking into getting a new computer.. a MAC.. as this one after having a new motherboard, new hard-drive, new memory, AND new video card put in by Dell (so lucky I had an extended warranty), I am still having issues with it.

I will make an attempt to catch up on blogging and show you all my favorite images from Sept (yes, they go back that far), Oct., Nov, Dec, and now January.. YIKES!

Here is the first of hopefully many posts to come:

A gorgeous family at WindanSea beach! I had the pleasure of photographing the little one earlier and was called out once more for the family holiday portrait! These guys were a blast! Very laid-back.. just how I like it!

Cutie with Curls

okay, I had to quickly share this sweet little one. It took some convincing to have her wear the skirt, but once she was in it, she didn’t want to give it back! doesn’t she look like a teeny-tiny grace kelly?

Chubba chubba

oh, how I love a chunka chubba newborn baby. This little one had the cutest belly button I’ve ever seen!

The Happenings…

Soo.. it’s been a long, long time since I’ve popped in and posted on my blog. I’ve been busy with wrapping up holiday sessions and am quite relieved to say that this Friday I have my last official sessions of 2008!!

I have over 2 dozen or more sessions to go through to find my favorite images and post to the blog for you.. including newborn images, more studio stuff, on-location families, big kids, little kids, and more! I will do my best to get at least a few images up before I get overwhelmed with the holiday season!

So.. what’s been going on besides me staying up until 2am for over 2 straight weeks getting photo work done (wow, am I ever tired!), Well, there have been loads of new developments here in the household.

First, TJ lost his first TOOTH!! and sadly enough, we are not exactly sure at what time he lost it. I just know the day that he lost it, and have to assume that it must’ve finally fallen out while he was eating and he probably ended up swallowing it! He has 3 more very loose teeth right now, so we’re expecting lots of tooth fairy visits in the near future. (his two front top teeth and his other front bottom tooth). We had to leave a note for the tooth fairy, so that she could locate TJ’s missing tooth and still leave him a surprise. He got $5 and was pretty excited about it.. (he has yet to spend it). Check out these knarly teeth.. You can see the two new teeth coming in on the bottom, one just behind his other loose tooth.. TJ is not much of a tooth-wiggler, so the new teeth are slowly pushing the old ones out.

TJ also has a few new words.. among them, “dude” and “yeah I do” (his first sentence) the latter is his now usual response to any question. ie, Me-”TJ do you want to go for a ride”, TJ- “yeah I do”

Second, TJ had his first seizure. Very, very scary.. mainly because we weren’t certain what was going on. I was pretty frightened that he may have had a stroke, but luckily it was a seizure. He is now on medication and it might have been a blessing in disguise, as TJ’s neurologist is now looking into the possibilty that TJ has a rare disorder which is treatable. (Something that I had him tested for 3 years ago, with negative results). We’re crossing our fingers and praying that the tests reveal this to be the case, and that TJ can recover from this disorder. I’ll keep you updated with any progress and results that we uncover.

Third, Angie has become our little entertainer. She’s goofy, she’s dramatic, she’s something else. My mother-in-law came for a visit and after being entertained by Angie for a little while remarked, “You are a Trip!”, to which Angie replied, “I’m not a trip, I’M ANGELINA!”. She is about as girly-girl as they come.. she’ll spend the entire day coloring and drawing, then showing off her creations, “look what I made!”, she loves to dress-up, choose her own clothes, she is obsessed with shoes, and she likes her nails painted. Where did this child come from???

In October, I nabbed a nice little barreling wave, tucked under the lip, and by chance, Chris happened to be there to capture the shot!! Check out this awesome once-in-a lifetime shot!!!  Yes, that’s ME!! I added the shot of me coming out of the barrel to prove it was me under there. ;)  (okay, this shot is mostly only appreciated by other surfers, but take my word for it, this is a doozie and I’m totally stoked about it!! )

Lastly,  We are moving! In the first 2 weeks of 2009, we will be (once again) packing the house up and moving to a new neighborhood and we’re excited to get to know our new neighbors! The new neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, which we are not used to (currently being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of San Diego).

More photos coming soon!!

Sharing some studio sessions

I have tons more on the way, but I haven’t shared any studio session in a while, so here are two cuties who came to visit me for in-studio portraits. One of which came all the way from the East Coast.. well, not just to visit me, lol, but made a stop along the way for some photos!

A very hot day and a very good sport!

Early October I had a session with this sweet energetic little lady, and of course it had to be about 100 degrees out. Definitely the hottest day I’ve witnessed in good ole’ SD. I always tell my clients to bring layers, layers, and more layers for some great looks, and she was such a good sport donning her denim jacket, fleece hoodie, and even a hat for some shots.. as I was all getting overheated just shootin’ her in my tank top!

Beach Portrait Sessions…

So…. in an attempt to make up some of my blogging, I’m posting some of my favorite photos from some not-so-recent beach sessions!

A fun engagement shoot with a good family friend!

A family session with two adorably, very animated twins! (whom I’ve had the priviledge of photographing again one year later, and of course they are running much faster this year!)

A family with 3 sweet little girls, one of which couldn’t run away from me. :)

Family Lifestyle session

I wanted to share what a typical family session looks like. I like to create a series of images instead of that one big ole traditional portrait, so that you have more to hang on your wall. I’ve always been a big fan of those beautiful photos framed so nicely in various sizes in home decorating magazines. Wouldn’t it be nice to have an assortment of photos of your family and children that you can hang all around your home, while all of the images compliment each other? I know I would!

Here is a recent family at a La Jolla Beach.

In Black&White:

and some of my favorites from the session!

Notice the mischievous look on her face….. with her hands filled with globs of sand.. hmm.. what are you planning on doing with that sand?

OH!! ha ha! you didn’t get me!!

This gianormous Wave crashing onto the beach is WAAAYY bigger than this little dude! Run, RUN, RUN!!

We call it “The Whomp” at WindanSea.. you can guess why.

Trick-or-treat!

So the kids went trick-or-treating last night… I’ll have to admit, I was quite disappointed in the variety of candy that they received… By the time we got home after 2 hours of trick-or-treating, the kids both had a bucket full of lollipops. ??? what’s up with all the lollipops?? What happened to good ole fashioned CHOCOLATE?? I mean, what are us parents supposed to steal from our kids now? a lollipop?  I don’t think so.

Sheeesh.

anyway, this year was the first year that both children got to pick their own costumes! and I’m glad that I let them, because what they chose was not what I expected at ALL! I thought that TJ would want to be some superhero, like spiderman, the hulk, batman, something along those lines.. but no, when we got to Party City, it took TJ 2 seconds before spotting the “Harry Potter” costume as he enthusiastically pointed and hollered “MA! MA! MA!”. Check out the glasses! We knew that TJ would not wear a pair of glasses walking around, so what’s a harry potter without glasses? This was my solution.

Angelina, I thought would want to be a princess, since that’s all she talked about the past month, “I wanna be Ariel the mermaid! I want to be Jasmine!”, but it took a little longer, her eyes gazing right past the ariel and jasmine costumes and finally spotting a cat costume and insisting that she HAD to be cat. She was very excited when she finally got to wear it (her black leotard and tights, with a tail sewn on).. actually insisting on wearing it to bed.

The kids were pretty funny during trick-or-treat. TJ was as quiet as a mouse (which is quite rare.. actually pretty nonexistent), completely enamored (go me! big word) by the whole process. Standing in shock at people’s doorways amazed that they were actually letting him HAVE candy! Angelina proclaimed after every home that we visited “How ’bout we go to another house!!” This happened after EVERY house.. even 2 hours into trick-or-treat. So all night long, “how ’bout we go to another (pronouced “anutter”) house?” nonstop.. it was really cute. At one point a woman answered her door and told us that they were unprepared with no candy. Angie shouted at her, “You go get some CANDY!” As rude as it was of her, I couldn’t help but find her statement to the woman amusing.

oh, and thank you! to those who left me tips on where to find a REAL pumpkin farm!
